Kai von Kröcher, Berlin
Born in Braunschweig in 1964.
Founded his first Band at the age of 14 and was a local
Rock’n’Roll – Star in the eighties with his band called La
Petite Mort.
Moved to Berlin in 1989 where quit university and started working at
a radio station. Working freelance for television later on.
Quit everything in 1995. Jobbing. First photoseries (Kreuzberg zwischen den Zeiten,1995-97/ Kreuzberg between the times, 1995-97).
Working for the newspaper Berliner Zeitung in 1997.
Since 1998 a photographer for agencies, musicians, DJs, artists and movies.
Road Kill, TX 75460, 2001
When Kai von Kröcher arrived in Texas, he did not know with what pictures
he would return. The typical Texan motive of roadkill along the highways was
unknown to him. He started taking photos later noticing that they did not seem
pervert but, instead, would be a memorial to the animals.
